I first came to the Center in 2007 when every dimension of my life was in turmoil. I went up on stage with other attendees as part of a Valentine’s Day celebration in 2008. Jeff put his hands on my head and said “You are right where you belong.” Cryptic words at the time, but very prescient. The philosophy of the Center was in line where my thinking had been drifting for some time. The Center provide me with stable ground that I could use to get my life on track. I volunteer as a way to saying thanks, and just because I enjoy it and the people I work with.

Volunteering allows us to step outside our comfort zones and confront new challenges. In these unfamiliar situations, we often discover hidden strengths, talents, and resilience within ourselves. As we navigate unfamiliar territories and work towards making a positive impact, we grow personally and spiritually. Volunteering also encourages self-reflection, prompting us to question our values, priorities, and the ways in which we can contribute to creating a more compassionate and just world.
