Amazing Displays, Meaningful Encounters, Sacred Space

CSLSR is my Spiritual home and The Bookstore within it is my haven and refuge with my teammates and our supportive and inspiring Bookstore Managers Alicia Carroll and Sue Sandholm. All together, we offer a safe and adventurous portal where congregants can browse and muse about a gift for a friend, child or parent, and especially to mourn or honor themselves in their spiritual journey of milestones and triumphs.

People come to The Bookstore feeling opened and inspired by the message and music and feel called to find a book or CD to deepen their learning. One of my greatest joys is to hear a personal story of one of our patrons and fellow seekers, who trust me to hear them in confidence.

As people explore the inspiring books, inspirational statues, greeting cards, scarves, clothes, scent, candles, incense, chime hearts and touchstones, mobiles, wall hangings, earrings, necklaces, handmade hats and body warmers they chat and laugh and ask opinions. They are especially thrilled and tickled to find Rev Russ’s 3D printed dinosaurs, or Rev Edward’s zippered travel bags made from the many ties he’s received over the years, or his handmade soaps in various scents and colors. The Bookstore is a
feast to the eye and always smells delightful thanks to all the earthy and natural scents and incense.

The amazing displays of related items are crafted so artfully by our managers, Sue and Alicia, as they work seasonal themes throughout the store. I think I share the lingering glow with all who grace the sacred space The Bookstore is.

COMING ON JULY 6 - JAIL MINISTRY RECOGNITION - Supporting Those Incarcerated in Sonoma County

The Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa (CSLSR) Jail Ministry is a team of dedicated volunteers who visit individuals incarcerated at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility (MADF) where approximately 700 people await trial or retrial. Many are confined to their cell 23 hours a day, sometimes for years. Each week, we visit those who request connection, offering compassionate presence and spiritual support. Through providing one-on-one and group visits, classes, inspirational books, and copies of Science of Mind Magazine, we help individuals reconnect with their inner divinity and wholeness.  Voices from Inside: “Your visit changed everything for me.” “You give us strength and calm. You show us a different path.” “I read a passage from The Mastery of Love every night—it helps me sleep.”   Want to Support the Ministry? 1. Pray for all those incarcerated in Sonoma County 2. Volunteer—join our team and help expand our reach 3. Donate—all funds go toward...
