Blast from the Past: Celebrating an Iconic Figure in Our Community

Hello to all our cherished community members!

In today's special edition of "Blast from the Past," we're featuring a truly unforgettable figure, someone whose presence has been pivotal in our community's journey. She still shows up now and then in the same elegant, cheerful way she was known for.  She's a person no retrospective could be complete without, and her story is intertwined with the very fabric of our organization.

Before I joined, she was already here, a guiding light through numerous trials and tribulations. Her resilience and unwavering spirit have been a beacon of hope and strength for us all. It's her dedication and commitment that helped hold our community together during some of the most challenging times.

But now, I turn to you, our community members, with a little challenge: Do you recognize who she is? Think back to the days, perhaps years ago, when her influence and presence were most felt. What role did she play? How did she impact our organization and each one of us?

Her contributions are numerous, and her legacy is rich with stories of compassion, leadership, and sheer determination. She's been more than just a member; she's been a mentor, a friend, and a cornerstone of our community.

As we walk down memory lane, let's take a moment to appreciate her incredible journey with us.  If you have memories or stories about her, please share them in the comments below. (I saw this person's daughter just a few weeks ago at service if that's a clue.)

Let’s celebrate this remarkable woman who continues to be such an integral part of our community's history. We are eager to see your guesses, memories, and tributes to this amazing person who has left an indelible mark on our hearts and our community.

Looking forward to your responses and reminiscences!

Warm regards,

Edward Viljoen, Senior Minsiter
Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa

Science of Mind Archives Relocated and Reopened

I have wanted to visit Unity Village since I first became aware of it, and being at the opening celebration of the Science of Mind archives gave me a perfect opportunity to do that. I am in awe and appreciation for those who have gathered and found a way to preserve the teachings of Ernest Holmes in such a special place that I found Unity Village to be. At the celebration dinner, it was interesting to hear the presentations of those who spoke not only of the early days of Ernest Holmes but also of the Science of Mind magazine. Many of us no doubt remember our first introduction to Science of Mind, as I certainly do. For me, it was the Science of Mind magazine through which I then found the church. At the archive,s it was fun to be able to read and photograph the page from the Science of Mind magazine on the day I was born. How easy it is to take what we have for granted, and as I reflect with appreciation for the teaching and the preservation of the archives, I ask myself what am I doi...
