Blast from the Past: Unraveling the Mystery of the Number 45

Hello, everyone!

It's time for another delightful trip down memory lane with our "Blast from the Past" series. Today, we're focusing on a photo from a past party that holds a special place in our community's history. And there's a hint to unlock the memory - it has something to do with the number 45. But what exactly were we celebrating?

In the photo, you can see a group of people, each with a story to tell. Do you recognize any of these faces? They could be long-standing members of our community, special guests, or perhaps even individuals who played a significant role in what we were celebrating that day.

One detail in the photo that might catch your eye is the floor, which appears to be in less-than-perfect condition. Why is that? Maybe there's an interesting story behind it?

And finally, I'm reaching out to you - were you there at this party? If so, what memories do you have of the event? Was there a special significance that the event held for you or a memorable moment that has stayed with you over the years?

This photo isn't just an image; it's a portal to the past, inviting us to remember and celebrate the moments that have shaped our community. It’s these shared experiences, big and small, that continue to bind us together.

So, let’s unravel this mystery together! Share your thoughts, guesses, and memories in the comments below. Whether it’s identifying the people, revealing the reason behind the celebration, or any anecdotes about the state of the floor – every piece adds to the story.

Looking forward to your responses and reliving those joyous moments together!

Warm regards,

Edward Viljoen, Senior Minsiter

Science of Mind Archives Relocated and Reopened

I have wanted to visit Unity Village since I first became aware of it, and being at the opening celebration of the Science of Mind archives gave me a perfect opportunity to do that. I am in awe and appreciation for those who have gathered and found a way to preserve the teachings of Ernest Holmes in such a special place that I found Unity Village to be. At the celebration dinner, it was interesting to hear the presentations of those who spoke not only of the early days of Ernest Holmes but also of the Science of Mind magazine. Many of us no doubt remember our first introduction to Science of Mind, as I certainly do. For me, it was the Science of Mind magazine through which I then found the church. At the archive,s it was fun to be able to read and photograph the page from the Science of Mind magazine on the day I was born. How easy it is to take what we have for granted, and as I reflect with appreciation for the teaching and the preservation of the archives, I ask myself what am I doi...

COMING ON JULY 6 - JAIL MINISTRY RECOGNITION - Supporting Those Incarcerated in Sonoma County

The Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa (CSLSR) Jail Ministry is a team of dedicated volunteers who visit individuals incarcerated at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility (MADF) where approximately 700 people await trial or retrial. Many are confined to their cell 23 hours a day, sometimes for years. Each week, we visit those who request connection, offering compassionate presence and spiritual support. Through providing one-on-one and group visits, classes, inspirational books, and copies of Science of Mind Magazine, we help individuals reconnect with their inner divinity and wholeness.  Voices from Inside: “Your visit changed everything for me.” “You give us strength and calm. You show us a different path.” “I read a passage from The Mastery of Love every night—it helps me sleep.”   Want to Support the Ministry? 1. Pray for all those incarcerated in Sonoma County 2.
