Blast from the Past: Reliving a Memorable Event in Our Community's History

Hello to all our wonderful community members!

Today, in our "Blast from the Past" series, we're taking a stroll down memory lane to revisit a special event in our community's history. An event captured in a photo that speaks volumes about the spirit and camaraderie of our group.

Let's start with the event itself. Can you identify which event this photo is from? Each event in our community has its unique flair and significance, and this one is no exception. It might have been a celebration, a commemoration, or perhaps a regular gathering that holds a special place in our collective memory.

In the photograph, there's a person playing the harp. Do you recall who this talented musician is? The harpist's performance undoubtedly added a layer of elegance and tranquility to the event.  Ha. And the hair?

Alongside the harpist, there are other individuals who appear in the photo. Each of them played a role in making the event memorable. Do you recognize them? Perhaps they were organizers, guests of honor, or active members who contributed to the event in various ways.

Now, I turn to you, our community members. Were you there at this event? If so, what significance does it hold for you? Maybe it was an evening that left a lasting impression, a moment of connection, or a time that marked an important milestone for our community.

This event, like many others, weaves into the rich tapestry of our community's story. It's a reminder of the times we've shared, the experiences we've cherished, and the bonds we've strengthened.

I encourage you to share your memories and thoughts about this event. Your stories and reflections are not just personal recollections; they are the threads that connect us all in this beautiful community narrative.

Please leave your comments and stories below. Let's relive the magic of this event and celebrate the wonderful moments we've shared as a community.

Looking forward to hearing your cherished memories and reflections!

Warmly,

Edward Viljoen, Senior Minsiter

Science of Mind Archives Relocated and Reopened

I have wanted to visit Unity Village since I first became aware of it, and being at the opening celebration of the Science of Mind archives gave me a perfect opportunity to do that. I am in awe and appreciation for those who have gathered and found a way to preserve the teachings of Ernest Holmes in such a special place that I found Unity Village to be. At the celebration dinner, it was interesting to hear the presentations of those who spoke not only of the early days of Ernest Holmes but also of the Science of Mind magazine. Many of us no doubt remember our first introduction to Science of Mind, as I certainly do. For me, it was the Science of Mind magazine through which I then found the church. At the archive,s it was fun to be able to read and photograph the page from the Science of Mind magazine on the day I was born. How easy it is to take what we have for granted, and as I reflect with appreciation for the teaching and the preservation of the archives, I ask myself what am I doi...

COMING ON JULY 6 - JAIL MINISTRY RECOGNITION - Supporting Those Incarcerated in Sonoma County

The Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa (CSLSR) Jail Ministry is a team of dedicated volunteers who visit individuals incarcerated at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility (MADF) where approximately 700 people await trial or retrial. Many are confined to their cell 23 hours a day, sometimes for years. Each week, we visit those who request connection, offering compassionate presence and spiritual support. Through providing one-on-one and group visits, classes, inspirational books, and copies of Science of Mind Magazine, we help individuals reconnect with their inner divinity and wholeness.  Voices from Inside: “Your visit changed everything for me.” “You give us strength and calm. You show us a different path.” “I read a passage from The Mastery of Love every night—it helps me sleep.”   Want to Support the Ministry? 1. Pray for all those incarcerated in Sonoma County 2. Volunteer—join our team and help expand our reach 3. Donate—all funds go toward...
